| Keoghs announces key promotions |

Bolton-based law firm Keoghs has announced a string of promotions including three new partners and a number of new associates as part of its continued growth. Gary Fitzpatrick has been promoted to equity partner. Gary heads the firm’s disease team and has over 10 years experience dealing with disease claims. He specialises in asbestos-related conditions, work related upper limb disorders, noise-induced hearing loss, hand arm vibration syndrome and repetitive back injury. Melanie Mooney has become a junior equity partner (JEP). Melanie is a multi-track team leader in the liability team. She deals with personal injury claims with a value up to £250,000 and in addition is the firm’s credit hire expert. ![]() The firm has also appointed Helen McGovern as its first senior associate, a newly created role for non-solicitors equivalent to JEP. Helen is team leader of the motor/household team and has wide experience of road traffic accident claims as well as employers and public liability matters. The new associates are: Risk and quality manager Ian May has been promoted to associate support level; a role introduced last year. Ian has responsibility for all areas of risk across the business and manages this in conjunction with the risk, quality and compliance team.
